Scary Perry - Skateboarder: Bio
I started Skateboarding after seeing these Russ Howell Commercials back in 1974 before I'd go to Elementary School in the morning. Russ Howell would be riding a Grentic GT Skateboard. Which became my first board back in 1974. the year I moved to Tarzana, California from Arlington Hts., Ill. Seeing this guy do Push ups on a Skateboard and 360s like a figure skater on ice.

I retired from skateboarding in 1981, but because of my new found stardom from the film "Windy City Heat" there was I big demand that I come back ... Well, after twenty-eight years I'M BACK!!!

I haven't seen Tony since the Comp. at Skatercross the summer of 1979. So I went to his one year anniversary party. I walked up to Tony and said, "You wouldn’t remember me, maybe you would. But I was in a Skateboard Comp. that you judged at Skatercross the Summer of 1979." He right away said, "Burt LaMar won the Comp. Hands Down!"

I said, Burt LaMar won The Pro End. I won third place as an amateur and you gave me a Coleman Little Oscar Cooler, that I still use to this date.

I figured, when your Pro, you look up to Pro Skaters way better than you do Amateurs. But seeing Tony Alva on December 9th, 2006 and then buying my first Alva Board since the 70's and Skateboarding again since the 70's brought me back to the Sport.

Well, I came out with a Comedy for Comedy Central on October 12th, 2003 called "Windy City Heat." It's my honor to have a Film that I'm the STAR of named after my home town, Chicago, Il. The Windy City of course, is the nick name. Last January 2008, I was at Alva Skates with Tony and I asked him if it could be possible if we could come out with a Perry Caravello or a Scary Perry, Alva Skate. He said, "WHY??? Just come out with your own board. I'll even help you get started by using the guys that make my boards.

So it's my honor again, to have Tony Alva involved in my life and again helping me start my own business.

So now I have "Scary Perry Skateboards."
